Immediately when it came, I had to sit down, on my favorite spot - my porch. I love the weight, its solid in feel. The smell of newness, the reality of the book came to life. All my senses came forth, and then my heart gave way to it. I held it, flipped through, and it was too much. I clasped it to my chest and I sobbed. I got my copy of the book today. I must say this has to be one of the most powerful, emotional, beautiful, and eye opening books that I have ever read. There are some pieces of my art in this book that I never imagined anyone else would ever see or relate to. Before this book, I was ashamed of the art that I made. Through the process of submitting my art, I was able to put years and years of the broken pieces of my story together. I have had Healing from Psychiatry: The Artist’s Perspective for about a week.  This book includes works of art from more than 50 contributors who openly and courageously share their journey with psychiatric medication.
